The Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, paid tributes to the freedom fighter Thiru Subramania Siva on his death anniversary. In his speech, he highlighted various aspects of Subramania Siva's life and contributions.
On July 23, 2026, the Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, paid floral tributes to Thiru Subramania Siva at Uprasthapati Bhawan in New Delhi on his death anniversary. Speaking about the occasion, the Vice-President emphasized that Thiru Subramania Siva was a great freedom fighter who hailed from Vatlagundu, Tamil Nadu.
He recounted how Subramania Siva inspired villagers across the region with the slogan ‘Vande Mataram’. The Vice-President also mentioned that Thiru Subramania Siva and Thiru V. O. Chidambaram Pillai were imprisoned by the British colonial government due to their unwavering commitment to India’s freedom.
Despite contracting leprosy during his imprisonment, Subramania Siva continued serving the cause of India's independence until his last breath. The Vice-President highlighted that Thiru Siva was a deeply patriotic son of India who worshipped Bharat Mata as his God and dedicated his entire life to the service of the motherland.
