On November 4, 2026, the Department of Justice, under the eCourts Mission Mode Project, organized a workshop titled 'eFiling 3.0: From Process to Practice' at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event brought together various Government officials, officers from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), and representatives from the Supreme Court of India's eCommittee. The objective was to sensitize government officials about the eFiling 3.0 platform and its practical applications.
Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Law and Justice, served as the Chief Guest. The program commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the National Song and Anthem. In his welcome address, the Secretary (Justice) highlighted the importance of eFiling in facilitating electronic filing of cases nationwide, especially for the Government, one of the largest litigants.
The Secretary further explained that user credentials for eOffice can be used for eCourts Single Sign-On (SSO), enabling government officials to track their cases and pay fees online through ePay. A video on the eCourts Project was also screened. The Secretary noted that while eFiling is not yet uniform across all Government Ministries/Departments, this workshop aimed to promote its wider use.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Minister emphasized the need for a change in mindset to embrace technological advancements and highlighted the benefits of eFiling. He reiterated that technological interventions should primarily serve the interests of citizens and improve accessibility and efficiency in public services.
