The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, virtually inaugurated Vanijya Bhawan and Udyog Bhawan in Jaipur on November 4, 2026. The offices aim to bring all associated organizations under one roof.
The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, inaugurated the co-located offices of his ministry in Jaipur on November 4, 2026. This marks the beginning of a project aimed at consolidating all related offices in one location within each state capital. The event took place virtually due to ongoing circumstances.
The new Vanijya Bhawan and Udyog Bhawan in Jaipur will serve as hubs for supporting industry and international trade, functioning as one-stop locations for activities related to the promotion of exports, investments, and internal trade. They are expected to facilitate businesses and industries on their path towards 'Viksit Bharat 2047'.
Shri Goyal emphasized that this initiative must extend beyond administrative consolidation and focus on transforming service delivery, simplifying processes, and making it easier for businesses to comply with the law. He stressed the need for active participation from government offices, stakeholders, state representatives, exporters, importers, investors, and businesses.
The Minister also directed that all processes, including applications for licenses and permits, SCOMET approvals, and other services, should move entirely online by March 31, 2027. He set a deadline of April 1, 2027, for no physical visits to offices for these services.
To ensure this transition, Shri Goyal encouraged self-certification, greater trust in stakeholders, and emphasized that the government should demonstrate confidence in citizens and businesses. He also called for simplifying processes, formats, and forms and breaking organizational silos to deliver better outcomes for businesses and citizens.
Shri Goyal clarified that the co-located centres would not limit their services only to organizations physically situated there but would facilitate services across all 46 organisations and different departments under the Ministry.
