An Indian national who was severely injured during the October 10 attack on Saudi Arabia's King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh passed away on the 25th day of his stay in an intensive care unit. The Indian embassy shared this news on Wednesday.
The Indian embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed on Wednesday that an individual, who had been critically injured during the October 10 airport attack, has sadly succumbed to his injuries after being hospitalized for 25 days in an intensive care unit. The diplomatic mission stated they have been in constant contact with the family and will continue to provide assistance. They also expressed condolences to the bereaved family and friends.
The embassy had earlier reported that 11 Indians were injured in the attack. Among the deceased individuals was Mohammad Yousuf Ali, a resident of Hyderabad.
According to the Saudi civil aviation authority, four Saudis, two persons from Bangladesh, one person each from the United States of America, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan, and Egypt also died in the attack. The October 10 attack killed a total of 14 people and injured more than 300, making it the deadliest strike on Saudi Arabia since May 2015.
The attacks are attributed to Yemen's Houthi militant group, who have been seeking to topple Yemen's internationally recognized government. The conflict between the Iran-backed Houthis and Saudi Arabia, which backs the government, has led to several attacks on Saudi territory.
