The Kanwar Yatra, an important religious event for Shiva devotees, started today in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The state government has implemented extensive safety measures to ensure the comfort and unhindered movement of millions of pilgrims.
To bolster security during this period until August 11th, not only police personnel and paramilitary forces have been stationed along the Kanwar track, national highways, major ghats, temples, and other sensitive locations, but also round-the-clock surveillance will be maintained through drone cameras, CCTV networks, and a state-of-the-art integrated control room.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that every possible precaution has been taken to prevent any inconvenience for the vast number of visitors during the pilgrimage. To facilitate seamless traffic flow, a special traffic diversion plan is in effect, and additional police personnel have been posted at congested areas.
