Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel addressing a gathering

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel emphasized the importance of individual, family, and societal participation in the 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan' campaign launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel participated in a local event in Bhopal on Sunday, marking the virtual launch of the 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan' by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The event was held at the Brahma Kumaris Sukh Shanti Bhavan Retreat Centre as part of a 10-crore De-Addiction Pledge Campaign, organized on the occasion of the 19th death anniversary of Brahma Kumari Dadi Prakashmani Ji.

In his address to the gathering, Governor Patel highlighted that the success of the Nasha-Mukt Bharat Abhiyan depends on active participation from every individual, family, community, and section of society. He urged people to uphold their pledge against substance abuse throughout the year, stating that if 10 crore individuals help make one family each drug-free, nearly 50 crore people across the country could become free from addiction.

Governor Patel described the campaign as a historic people's movement for building a drug-free, healthy, value-based, and developed India. He stressed that it is society's collective responsibility to protect children from the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage every household to remain addiction-free.

Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Horticulture and Food Processing Shri Narayan Singh Kushwah expressed concern over the growing impact of substance abuse among the younger generation. He emphasized that the goal of a drug-free India must become a mass movement.

Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission Shri Avdhesh Pratap Singh stressed the importance of preserving family and cultural values to keep youth away from addiction. He added that sustained dialogue within families and society is essential to protect youth from such social evils.
