The Air Force Band of Headquarters Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force, presented a diverse repertoire that combined traditional military music with contemporary patriotic melodies at the Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium in Nagpur during the 80th Independence Day celebrations.

On August 17, 2026, the Air Force Band of Headquarters Maintenance Command delivered a captivating performance at the Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium in Nagpur as part of the celebrations marking the 80th Independence Day. The band's repertoire consisted of various pieces that brought together traditional military music and contemporary patriotic melodies.

The precision, synchronization, and discipline displayed by the musicians mirrored the dedication of the Indian Air Force personnel, capturing the audience's attention throughout the performance.

Highlights of the concert included renditions of Maa Tujhe Salam, Jai Ho, Bharat Humko, and Lehra Do. The programme culminated with the performance of the National Anthem, leaving the entire gathering standing in solemn pride.

During the event, Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, VSM, PhD, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, felicitated Padma Shri Dr Vilas Dangre, who was the special guest for the evening.

The event was attended by families of martyrs from the uniformed services, civil dignitaries, school children, and residents of Nagpur, demonstrating the strong bond between the armed forces and the community.

The performance formed part of the wider Independence Day celebrations organized by the Indian Air Force to foster community engagement and commemorate the historic significance of the day.
