On Wednesday, a massive flash flood swept through the Bhotekoshi river in Nepal's Rasuwa district, located approximately 120 km north of Kathmandu. According to Associated Press (AFP), at least 95 persons have perished due to this calamity.
The Nepal Tourism Board has reported that among the 291 foreign citizens listed as missing, 105 are Indian tourists. The floods have destroyed several villages along the river and caused damage to roads, bridges, and power projects in the affected region.
Social media posts show the extent of destruction caused by the flash flood, with many villages being washed away. The cause of these floods remains under investigation.
