Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of PRAGATI to review six infrastructure projects across various sectors with a cumulative cost exceeding Rs 30,000 crore.

On August 25, 2026, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led the 53rd meeting of PRAGATI, an ICT-enabled multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation. During this session held at Seva Teerth, he reviewed six significant infrastructure projects encompassing the Railway, Road, and Power sectors spanning nine States.

The reviewed projects aimed to strengthen connectivity, support industrial and economic activity, and enhance public services with a combined cost surpassing Rs 30,000 crore. The focus was on adherence to timelines, inter-agency coordination, resolution of pending issues, and prompt completion.

The Prime Minister underscored the consequences of delays in infrastructure projects, which not only escalate costs but also postpone the intended benefits for citizens, businesses, and the economy. He suggested an integrated approach towards project implementation, emphasizing that progress in individual packages should lead to timely completion and operationalization of the entire project.

Additionally, he advocated for exploring common utility corridors for infrastructure services, especially when planning major transport and infrastructure projects. Ministries and States were encouraged to consider such integrated approaches at the planning stage, keeping technical and economic feasibility in mind.
