A case of a teacher allegedly molesting girl students came to light in Umaria district. The accused, Komalchandra Gupta, an assistant teacher, was immediately suspended after an FIR was registered against him under different sections. According to reports, a woman from Sultanpur village lodged a complaint with Vishwanath Pandey, the in-charge headmaster of the Government Primary School, alleging that Gupta had molested her seven-year-old daughter and two of her friends on August 22, 2026. The investigation was carried out by an inquiry team, which was present during the examination of headmaster, girl students, their parents, and villagers. It is reported that the allegations against Gupta were found to be true, leading to the approval for registration of FIR on August 29.
