Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced the development of Orchha as a significant pilgrimage centre, emphasizing its historical and cultural significance.

During a review of ongoing construction works at Shri Ram Raja Lok, a major historical and religious complex located in Orchha, Dr. Yadav expressed that Orchha was known as the capital of Bundelkhand under the glorious Bundela kings.

The Chief Minister inspected various establishments within the under-construction Ram Raja Lok complex, interacted with operators, and addressed their concerns and suggestions. He also inspected ongoing construction and renovation works at Jujhar Singh Mahal and Jahangir Mahal, appreciating their historical and rich architectural art.

The Chief Minister was briefed about the conservation of ancient 'Sawan-Bhado' pillars located in the temple complex and their architectural significance. Special attention is being paid to preserving these historic structures during new construction works.

Dr. Yadav stated that temples and palaces in Orchha are direct examples of rich architecture from that period, which keeps us connected with our ancient heritage and culture. These buildings are also remarkable examples of advanced technology and architecture of the time, as evidenced by their design without modern air conditioning systems.

The Chief Minister expressed optimism about the development of major pilgrimage centres across Madhya Pradesh, including Orchha, Chitrakoot, Datia, Nalkheda, and Pashupatinath Mandsaur. This move is expected to boost religious tourism and create employment opportunities at the local level.
