On August 31, 2026, the Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) Security Training Centre in Indora, Nagpur, held a Convocation Ceremony and Passing Out Parade for officers and departmental security personnel from various subsidiaries of Coal India Limited. The event was attended by Nagpur Police Commissioner Shri Vishwas Nangre Patil.
During the ceremony, trainees who excelled were felicitated with certificates of merit and awards. In his address, Shri Vishwas Nangre Patil emphasized the importance of industrial security to the country’s economic and energy security and stressed the need for security personnel to perform their duties with vigilance, integrity, and discipline while utilizing modern technology.
The Chief Guest also visited SHASTrA, a Smart and Modern Arms Training/Firing Simulation Facility at the Security Training Centre, where he was briefed on the technology-enabled training system. Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of WCL, highlighted WCL’s efforts to strengthen its security systems through modern technology, vigilance, and continuous training.
The event showcased the discipline, dedication, and professional preparedness of the newly trained security personnel. The Chief Guest inspected the parade and appreciated the high standards of discipline and professional competence displayed by the trainees.
