PM Modi scheduled to participate in the first Departmental Summit of Ministry of Jal Shakti on 2nd September 2026 at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi. The event aims to foster collective ownership and strengthen cooperative federalism through joint deliberations.
The upcoming Departmental Summit of the Ministry of Jal Shakti is set to take place on 1-2 September 2026, marking the first in a series of summits aimed at deepening cooperative federalism and fostering collective ownership of national priorities through closer collaboration between the Centre and States.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be participating in the valedictory session on 2nd September 2026 at around 4:30 PM at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi. He is scheduled to address the gathering during this occasion.
The initiative offers a structured platform for joint deliberations on critical sectoral priorities and aims to accelerate implementation and outcomes. The summit will bring together political leadership and senior officials from both Union and State Governments to discuss key priorities, share best practices, tackle implementation challenges, and create time-bound action plans.
Four main areas of focus for this summit are: timely implementation of water infrastructure projects, Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari – Catch the Rain, source sustainability of drinking water systems, and operation and maintenance of rural drinking water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0.
