Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav leads Madhya Pradesh in signing an MoU with Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for three renewable energy projects under the Department of New and Renewable Energy.
Madhya Pradesh, under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, is making significant strides in the green and clean energy sector. On Friday, at Samatva Bhawan at the Chief Minister’s Residence, an MoU was signed between Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for three projects under the Department of New and Renewable Energy in Madhya Pradesh. This agreement took place under the Transaction Advisory Services Agreement (TASA).
The Chief Minister congratulated ADB and RUMSL on the agreement, stating it as a significant step towards developing clean, reliable, and affordable energy in Madhya Pradesh. Over the years, the state has established a distinct position in the country’s renewable energy sector through innovation, large-scale projects, and competitive bidding processes.
The MoU aims to develop bankable and sustainable business transaction structures, thereby promoting long-term investment in Madhya Pradesh’s renewable energy sector. The projects will form an important foundation of the state’s future energy system, strengthen grid stability, renewable energy integration, and peak-demand management.
Under TASA, preparations are underway for three projects in Madhya Pradesh. As part of this initiative, an MoU has been signed with Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited for a 278 MW Omkareshwar Phase project, along with a floating solar project under the PM Surya Sarovar Scheme.
RUMSL has extensive experience in developing floating solar projects and has developed one of India’s largest floating solar projects. An additional reservoir area and the required infrastructure for 300 MW are also available at Omkareshwar. Surveys, pre-feasibility studies, and a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed 600 MW project have already been completed.
