The Reserve Bank of India has engaged M/s Hansa Research Group Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai to conduct the September 2026 round of its Inflation Expectations Survey of Households in 19 cities, seeking qualitative and quantitative responses from households on price movements and inflation rates.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) continues its regular practice of conducting the Inflation Expectations Survey of Households (IESH). The latest round, initiated in September 2026, expands to include 19 cities across India: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, and Thiruvananthapuram.
The survey aims to capture subjective assessments on price movements and inflation from households residing in these cities, based on their individual consumption baskets. The survey seeks qualitative responses from households on price changes (general prices as well as prices of specific product groups) in the three months ahead as well as in the one year ahead period and quantitative responses on current, three months ahead, and one year ahead inflation rates.
The agency, M/s Hansa Research Group Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai has been engaged to conduct this survey on behalf of the Reserve Bank of India. Households approached by the agency are requested to provide their response. Other individuals who were not approached can also participate in the survey by using the linked survey schedule and emailing it as per contact details provided.
