Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav, emphasized the state's rich natural and mineral resources as a significant asset for economic growth. At a meeting of the Mineral Resources Department, he urged for their utilization in a scientific, transparent, and environmentally sustainable manner. The focus should not only be on increasing revenue but also expanding opportunities for employment, investment, and local development.
The proposed State Mineral Exploration Policy 2026 was reviewed during the meeting. For the model district of Singrauli, which is abundant in mineral resources, the Chief Minister suggested improvements in areas such as education, health, women and child welfare, agriculture, forests, environment, road infrastructure, and watershed development using District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds.

The goal is to make Madhya Pradesh a leading state in the country's mining sector while maintaining a balance between development and environmental protection. The meeting also discussed various related issues, and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav approved the proposed State Mineral Exploration Policy 2026, directing officials for its effective implementation.
