Madhya Pradesh will resume public bus transport services, discontinued for 21 years, on September 25. The service will be based on a modern and unique model, with luxury bus services expected to follow.
On Thursday evening, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav interacted with media representatives after reviewing preparations at BHEL Dussehra Maidan for the launch of the Chief Minister Sugam Parivahan Seva on September 25. The service, which has been discontinued for the past 21 years, will mark a significant step towards strengthening Madhya Pradesh's public road transport system.
The state government is set to resume public bus transport services on Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Jayanti, the proponent of Integral Humanism. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the service would be based on a modern and unique model, under which various bus services, including e-buses, would be rolled out in a phased manner across all cities and districts of the state.
To enhance passenger convenience, bus stops, bus terminals, and an advanced control system equipped with modern electronic technology will be developed. Luxury bus services, ranging from city buses to services within the state and to other states, are expected to be introduced soon. This move aims to make travel from major cities of Madhya Pradesh to major pilgrimage centres and metropolitan cities across the country more convenient.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also announced that Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari would be present in Bhopal for the launch of the Chief Minister Sugam Parivahan Seva. He welcomed Shri Gadkari on behalf of the people of Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh.
