The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) conducted a series of anti-drug awareness programmes in Madhya Pradesh to sensitize students, opium cultivators and youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) has been conducting significant anti-drug awareness programmes across Madhya Pradesh over the past weeks. These initiatives aim at raising awareness against illegal trafficking and possession of narcotic drugs.
One such programme was organized at G.T. Polytechnic College, Jaora, to sensitize students about the harmful effects of drug abuse, prevention measures and their role in building a drug-free society. Presentations, awareness videos and quiz activities were part of the event, followed by an anti-drug pledge by the participants.
In another development, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between CBN and an unspecified entity. Approximately 50 opium cultivators and 40 CBN officers were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse during this event.
Two Jan Sunwayi programmes were held at Neemuch and Mandsaur for the prompt and accessible redressal of grievances of opium cultivators. More than participants took part in these programmes, where their grievances and queries were heard diligently and addressed promptly.
Cultivators were also advised to remain vigilant against middlemen/intermediaries and to approach CBN directly for clarification and assistance.
