Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed the Balaram Krishi Mahotsav held in Bhind virtually from his residence and highlighted the progress made in agriculture, animal husbandry, and fisheries in the district.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, in his address to the Balaram Krishi Mahotsav held in Bhind, emphasized the significant strides made by the district in agriculture, animal husbandry, and fisheries. Once notorious for its dacoit problem, Bhind is now transforming into an industrial, employment, and agricultural hub.

The Chief Minister stated that the agriculture sector holds great potential to become a strong pillar of the state's economy and the key to prosperity for all in the coming years. He encouraged farmers to diversify their interests, focusing on dairy farming, Shri Anna (millet) production, fisheries, or horticulture.

Dr. Yadav expressed his satisfaction over the growing interest among farmers in natural farming in the district. More than 3,000 farmers are practicing natural farming across 1,250 hectares in Bhind.

In terms of animal husbandry, milk collection has increased by 31%, and cow protection and care are being undertaken at around 60 gaushalas. Preparations are underway to establish a self-reliant gaushala in Pandari village with a capacity to shelter 5,000 destitute cattle.

Progressive farmers in the district have also adopted new fisheries technologies. For instance, modern fish-farming technology has been installed in Bhavthara village at a cost of ₹25 lakh, resulting in the production of 8 metric tonnes of fish.

The Chief Minister assured farmers that the government would stand with them and create a new chapter of history. He stated that farmers in the district have already taken the first step towards this by showing keen interest in animal husbandry and fisheries.
