A BJP agent was arrested and released on bail for allegedly submitting bulk forms seeking the deletion of Muslim voters during a special intensive revision exercise in Jharkhand's Godda district.
A booth-level agent of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Vinay Kumar Mandal, was arrested and later released on bail in Jharkhand’s Godda district for allegedly submitting bulk forms seeking the deletion of Muslim voters. The arrest occurred as part of a special intensive revision exercise currently underway in the state. According to The Indian Express, Mukarram Ansari, a voter, filed a complaint against Mandal, claiming that about 200 Form 7 applications were submitted at a single booth, all allegedly against Muslims who were genuine voters. The booth-level officer, Sajida Bibi, confirmed that her name and that of her husband were on the list of applications submitted by Mandal. However, Mandal claimed that he was told to submit the forms and initially received agreement from Bibi to do so.
