Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with newly appointed national office-bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party, during which the party passed a resolution regarding the honour and protection of the historical legacy of Vande Mataram.
On Tuesday in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the newly elected national office-bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at its Headquarters. In a subsequent social media post, Mr Modi shared his thoughts that organizational meetings serve to generate new ideas and perspectives aimed at fortifying the party and deepening its connection with the people.
During this meeting, BJP President Nitin Nabin also addressed the newly appointed national office-bearers. Among the resolutions passed was one pertaining to the honour and protection of the historical legacy of Vande Mataram. The resolution expressed disapproval and vehement opposition towards the Congress Working Committee's decision, made on the 19th of this month, to reaffirm its 1937 resolution that restricts the singing of Vande Mataram to only the first two stanzas during Congress events.
The BJP also resolved to uphold the honour, dignity, legacy, and national status of the complete Vande Mataram as the National Song of India, symbolizing the country’s national consciousness and freedom struggle. The party has planned a nationwide campaign through its workers to disseminate the history, meaning, national significance, and glorious legacy of Vande Mataram to every corner of the country.
Following the conclusion of the meeting with the national office-bearers, a national workshop was held for State Presidents, Organisation General Secretaries, among others, focusing on the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan. The BJP announced that the party will run a month-long nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on 17th of September, with a focus on highlighting his commitment to public service and encouraging people, particularly the youth, to undertake acts of service.
In a separate social media post, Mr Nabin said that the BJP team is committed to working with full dedication and devotion for expanding the base of the party to realize the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation.
