India hosted the 14th BRICS Science Ministerial Meet where the unanimous adoption of a declaration reaffirming BRICS commitment to build effective, resilient, and future-ready framework in science, technology, and innovation took place.
The closing session of the 14th BRICS Science Ministerial Meet, chaired by India, witnessed the unanimous adoption of 'Chennai Declaration'. The declaration emphasizes a people-centered approach and sustainable development in STI cooperation among BRICS nations. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh, delivered his closing remarks highlighting the central role of STI in building a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future. The declaration records the growing maturity and depth of BRICS STI cooperation, with sustained collaborative activity across 14 thematic Working Groups and various initiatives.
