Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, highlighted the historical significance of Maharshi Sandipani Ashram and the importance of the Guru-Shishya tradition in Indian culture during a ceremony at the ashram.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav attended the 'Guru Parampara Ka Lokparv – Shraddha Samaroh' held at the Maharshi Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain on Guru Purnima. In his address, he underscored the historical significance of Maharshi Sandipani Ashram, stating that it offers insights into the depth of India's ancient knowledge tradition.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that in Indian culture, the Guru is revered even above God and that Ujjain holds sacred significance as Lord Shri Krishna himself sought education there. He credited Maharshi Sandipani for equipping Lord Krishna with wisdom that made him a Jagatguru.
The Chief Minister highlighted the State Government's commitment to preserving and advancing India's cultural and intellectual heritage, particularly in preparation for Simhastha-2028. He noted that people of all faiths in Ujjain are collectively contributing to the city's development.
Dr. Yadav also expressed his greetings to the people of the State on Guru Purnima. Ujjain MLA Shri Anil Jain Kaluheda lauded the continuous development under Dr. Yadav's leadership in Ujjain, and expressed gratitude for his initiatives such as the upcoming development of Sandipani Lok, Kal Bhairav Lok, and an Ayurveda Medical University.
During the event, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav offered prayers and performed rituals at Maharshi Sandipani Gurudev, Kundeshwar Mahadev, and Sarveshwar Mahadev temples. He also released three books: ‘Maharshi Guru Sandipani’ (authored by him), ‘Maharshi Sandipani: Shilpi of the Indian Gurukul Tradition’, and ‘Sarvang’.
