In a continuous endeavour to maintain a clean, organised, efficient, and productive workplace, the Department of Defence (DoD) has persistently undertaken cleanliness drives since October 2025. These initiatives, collectively known as Special Campaign 5.0, were carried out across attached and subordinate offices of the department from November 2025 to August 2026. Through these drives, a total of 45,448 square feet of space was freed up and ₹97.07 lakh generated via the disposal of scrap and unserviceable materials. The cleanliness activities involved active participation from various organisations under the Department, such as the Directorate General Defence Estates (DGDE), Directorate General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) and Canteen Stores Department (CSD). These sustained efforts are part of the department's commitment to institutionalising Swachhta as a regular feature of official functioning.
