The Delhi Police has filed a case against YouTuber Ajeet Bharti for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Chandra Shekhar Aazad, the president of Azad Samaj Party and chief of Dalit rights organisation Bhim Army. The complaint was filed by the Azad Samaj Party following Bharti's comments in a video about anti-reservation protests held at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar last week.

The Delhi Police has taken action against YouTuber Ajeet Bharti for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Chandra Shekhar Aazad, the president of Azad Samaj Party and chief of Dalit rights organisation Bhim Army. According to The Indian Express, Bharti made the alleged remarks in a video where he spoke about the anti-reservation protests held at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar last week. The Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) filed a complaint against Bharti on Sunday, alleging that he had uploaded content containing caste-based, abusive, humiliating, sexually degrading, and potentially inflammatory statements about Aazad and BR Ambedkar. The complaint also stated that Bharti repeatedly invoked caste identity in a derogatory and humiliating manner. As reported by The Indian Express, Bharti has been booked under sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act, the Information Technology Act, and provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita pertaining to promoting enmity between groups and criminal intimidation. However, Bharti has claimed that he made the comments in response to abusive social media posts targeting his mother and sister, and denied using casteist slurs about Chandra Shekhar Aazad.
