The Department of Financial Services has successfully achieved 100% solarisation across all identified feasible buildings, resulting in an aggregate installed clean capacity of 61.50 MW.
On November 6, 2026, the Department of Financial Services (DFS) was awarded the PM Surya Ghar Excellence Award for Maximum Buildings Solarized by Central Ministries/Departments during the valedictory session of Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 (BRE Summit). The Vice-President of India presented the award at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
In view of the significant achievement, DFS was honored for its exceptional institutional commitment towards solarisation. After technical and structural feasibility assessments, 2,576 out of a total 4,144 buildings under its administrative control were identified as viable for solarization. The rooftop solar PV plants have been fully commissioned across all 2,576 feasible buildings, delivering an aggregate installed clean capacity of 61.50 MW.
The BRE Summit was organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) alongside the 9th General Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH).
