Dindori district secures first rank in implementing Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana. Focus on agricultural productivity, irrigation, and modern farming techniques.

Dindori district has secured the top position among 100 selected districts across the country in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMKKY) for July. This achievement is due to effective implementation and coordination of 36 schemes being operated by various departments within the district.

The PMKKY aims at increasing agricultural productivity, enhancing farmers' incomes, strengthening irrigation and agricultural infrastructure, and promoting modern agricultural technologies.

Agriculture plays a significant role in Dindori's economy, along with forest produce and rural livelihoods. Special attention is given to natural and organic farming as well as the production of Shree Anna (millets).

Kodo-Kutki cultivation covers 34,700 hectares, benefiting 52,282 farming families and 14 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs). Traditional Kodo-Kutti products have received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, which recognizes them at the national level.

Under the Rani Durgavati Shree Anna Promotion Scheme, 3,000 quintals of Kodo-Kutki have been procured from 5,036 farmers, with a target to reach 10,000 quintals for the current year. Thirty-three bio-resource centres have been established to expand natural and organic farming.

Agricultural mechanisation has also been strengthened through Happy Seeders, Super Seeders, and other advanced agricultural implements, covering 38,518 hectares. The district has registered 6,364 farmers under the Natural and Organic Agriculture Development Scheme.

Initiatives are being undertaken in Pashupalan and dairy development sectors to improve rural economy. Under various schemes, vaccination coverage has been achieved for livestock, fodder seeds have been distributed, and buffaloes provided under the Chief Minister Dairy Plus Scheme.
