The Election Commission has allowed voters whose names were excluded from draft electoral rolls during the special intensive revision to submit a fresh enumeration form and have their names included in the final list.
The Election Commission of India has provided an opportunity for citizens whose names were excluded from draft electoral rolls during the special intensive revision in seven states and Union Territories to submit a fresh enumeration form and have their names included in the final list. The provision applies to those whose enumeration forms were not received, resulting in them being marked absent, shifted, dead or duplicate in the draft rolls. The seven states are: Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana and Nagaland.
Booth level officers will issue fresh enumeration forms to these voters. Those who have shifted to a new address within the state must submit the form along with proof of residence. They will not need to file Form 8, which is used to update addresses, the poll body said.
Electors who have not shifted homes but were unable to submit their forms earlier must submit the form along with a statement explaining the reason for the delay.
