The Goa government plans to provide financial assistance for three domestic LPG cylinders annually to eligible households under the new 'Goa Ujjwala Scheme'.
The Goa Government is set to launch the 'Goa Ujjwala Scheme' on September 5, offering financial aid equivalent to the cost of three domestic LPG cylinders yearly for eligible household LPG and PNG consumers. As per Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, this assistance will be directly transferred into beneficiaries' bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The Civil Supplies Department has allocated ₹100 crore for the scheme. Notably, there is no income criterion for availing the benefit; however, only one domestic gas connection per family will be eligible.
Existing Griha Aadhar and Deen Dayal Social Security Scheme beneficiaries can apply by submitting their scheme application and bank passbook. For open-category applicants, a separate application is available. Applications will be accessible at panchayat and municipal offices.
The first instalment is anticipated to be credited to beneficiaries' bank accounts on September 9 or 10.
