Overnight heavy rainfall has led to a flood-like situation in various districts of Agartala, causing disruption of normal life and prompting evacuation efforts. The administration is closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary measures.
The recent heavy downpour in Tripura has caused flooding across several areas of Agartala, specifically Chandrapur, Baldakhal, and Aralia. As a result, the water levels of rivers and canals have risen significantly, submerging houses, roads, and surrounding areas.
This flood situation has disrupted the normal life in these districts, forcing several residents to seek refuge in relief camps. In response, the administration has initiated rescue operations aimed at evacuating people from waterlogged areas.
West Tripura District Magistrate Dr Vishal Kumar, accompanied by other administrative officials, surveyed the affected zones to evaluate the extent of damage. Dr Kumar confirmed that the administration is closely monitoring the flood situation and has taken all essential measures to address it.
In addition, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha reported that several parts of West Tripura district have been inundated due to heavy rainfall. He emphasized that the situation is under close observation, with district and sub-divisional magistrates being instructed to take necessary actions.
The administration has also been directed to ensure swift relief and essential assistance for those affected by the flood.
