
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alerts for heavy rainfall in Central Maharashtra and Odisha, with further alerts for various other regions across the country.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall over Central Maharashtra and Odisha today. In addition, the IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall conditions over Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa during the next two to three days.
The weather agency also forecasts heavy rainfall conditions for Coastal Andhra Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, and Himachal Pradesh today. Similar weather conditions have been predicted over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, and parts of Northeast India.
The Met Department has also forecast thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds over Bihar, Coastal Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Odisha, South Interior Karnataka and Telangana till Tuesday.
