The Government of India has issued a fresh advisory for its nationals in Saudi Arabia, particularly those who are Umrah pilgrims, due to ongoing flight cancellations. This comes amidst escalating tensions in the region following a series of drone and missile attacks by Yemen’s Houthis targeting civilian infrastructure. The Consulate General of India in Jeddah is offering continuous assistance through its 24×7 Control Rooms in Jeddah and Makkah, with support from community associations and volunteers. The mission remains in regular contact with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to address difficulties caused by flight disruptions, specifically addressing concerns related to visa validity and delayed departures.
The Advisory urges Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia, particularly those who are Umrah pilgrims, to stay safe and avoid non-essential travel until the situation normalizes. The Consulate General of India has also advised Indian nationals to keep their contact details updated with the mission for any emergency assistance.
