The Indian Air Force (IAF) is organizing the Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon 2026 (SIM-26) on October 4, 2026, at seven cities across India. The event honors the legacy of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC, and is aligned with the Fit India Movement.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is conducting the Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon 2026 (SIM-26) on October 4, 2026. Simultaneously taking place at seven cities across India, this event commemorates the supreme sacrifice of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC, the only recipient of the Param Vir Chakra from the IAF. By honoring his enduring legacy, the event aims to promote the values and ethos of the Defence forces. The marathon is also aligned with the Fit India Movement launched by the Government of India aimed at promoting the importance of fitness.
On behalf of the IAF, the HQ Maintenance Command will be organizing SIM-26 at Mumbai. The event seeks to translate the indomitable spirit of national resolve into a positive movement of fitness, discipline, resilience, and determination among the youth.
Operation Sindoor demonstrated the courage, professionalism, resolve, and sacrifice of Defence Forces in safeguarding the sovereignty and security of the country. It also demonstrated the strength of national unity and the unwavering resolve of our citizens to stand together against adversity. The marathon aims to embody this spirit.
