The Indian Coast Guard has clarified that the fishing boat Sri Sengalamman, which resulted in the deaths of seven fishermen and left two missing, did not heed advisories issued by all concerned agencies after Cyclone Arnab's landfall on October 29th. Search operations continue for the remaining two fishermen.

The Indian Coast Guard has released a statement regarding the fishing boat Sri Sengalamman that experienced an accident, causing the deaths of seven fishermen and leaving two missing. According to the Coast Guard, the vessel left Chennai fishing harbour on October 29th, following Cyclone Arnab's landfall. The boat took shelter at Nizampatnam as per predictions for Cyclone ‘Murasu’ between Nellore and Narsapur on November 2nd-3rd.

The Coast Guard has made it clear that the fishing boat failed to adhere to advisories issued by all concerned agencies, including the Indian Coast Guard. Out of the nine missing fishermen, seven bodies have been recovered. Search operations continue for the remaining two.

It is important to note that the Coast Guard's clarification highlights the disregard for safety advisories in such situations, which can have severe consequences.
