Indian Prime Minister Offers Condolences and Aid to Nepal Following Floods

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has spoken with his Nepalese counterpart Balendra Shah to express condolences over flood-related casualties. Modi also affirmed India's readiness to provide humanitarian aid and stated that coordination is ongoing for rescue and relief efforts.

On August 26, 2026, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, reached out to Prime Minister Balendra Shah of Nepal to express condolences over the loss of lives due to recent floods in Nepal. In a statement on his Twitter handle, Modi conveyed solidarity from the people of India with their Nepalese counterparts during this difficult time.

Modi also reaffirmed that India stands ready to offer all possible humanitarian assistance to Nepal. He stated that Indian teams are actively coordinating with Nepalese authorities on relief and rescue operations.
