India's foreign exchange reserves have surged by 11.4 billion US dollars to a record high of 740.8 billion US dollars, according to the Reserve Bank of India data.
India's foreign exchange reserves reached an all-time high during the week ended August 28, increasing by 11.4 billion US dollars to 740.8 billion US dollars. The Reserve Bank of India's data reveals that the largest component, Foreign currency assets, rose by 9.3 billion USD to 600.6 billion USD during the week. Gold reserves also saw an addition of 2.1 billion USD, reaching 116.4 billion US dollars. However, Special Drawing Rights declined slightly by 43 million USD to 18.8 billion USD. The country's reserve position with the International Monetary Fund dipped by 11 million USD to 4.9 billion USD.
