Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlights various farmer-centric welfare schemes, including Bhavantar Yojana for mustard and paddy farmers, subsidies for orchards and nursery development, and support for animal husbandry and fisheries.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced a series of measures aimed at ensuring farmer-centric welfare during the Krishak Kalyan Varsh (Farmer Welfare Year).
In his address at the Balram Krishi Mahotsav organized in Narmadapuram, he emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the State Government is making efforts to reach every household with farmer-centric welfare schemes.
The Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives taken by the government for the benefit of farmers, including ensuring the availability of irrigation, electricity, fertilisers, quality seeds and agricultural machinery. He also mentioned that crop insurance claims, PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits and interest-free agricultural loans are being directly transferred into farmers' bank accounts.
Dr. Yadav also announced the approval of the landmark Kavach Yojana by the State Cabinet to provide relief to farmers facing irregularities or delayed verification of their cooperative accounts.
In addition, he said that mustard and paddy have been brought under the Bhavantar Yojana, and for the first time, kodo and kutki (Shri Anna/millets) are being procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP) with a bonus. The government has also increased the procurement limit for eligible mung growers from 25 per cent to 60 per cent of their produce.
Dr. Yadav stressed the importance of crop diversification, animal husbandry and fisheries as avenues for increasing rural incomes. He said that the State Government is extending every possible support to these sectors, setting a target to increase the state's share in national milk production to 20 per cent.
To promote horticulture, the government is providing subsidies for establishing fruit orchards and nurseries, encouraging farmers to set up polyhouses and shade-net houses. Women Self-Help Groups are being supported under the Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam initiative, and farmers establishing food processing units are being provided a 50 per cent subsidy.
Narmadapuram is known as the Silk City, with high-quality silk becoming the district's distinctive identity. The Babai-Mohasa Industrial Area is emerging as one of the fastest-growing industrial hubs in the state, and a Logistics Park will be developed near Katni.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reaffirmed the government's commitment to farmer welfare, stating that activities dedicated to farmers' welfare would continue throughout the Krishak Kalyan Varsh.
