Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated in the Balram Krishi Mahotsav in Shajapur, discussing agricultural development and welfare. He emphasised natural farming, modern technology, and diversification of income.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed the Balram Krishi Mahotsav in Shajapur district through video conferencing on Saturday. During the event focused on agriculture, innovation, and development, he interacted with farmers and discussed various measures to promote agricultural growth and welfare.
Shajapur is known for crops such as onion, potato, and soybean, and is also emerging as a centre for agro-based industries and solar energy. The district's development is expected to accelerate with proposed road and expressway projects, improving farmers' and local traders' access to markets.
As part of 'Krishak Kalyan Varsh', the state government is promoting irrigation, electricity, solar pumps, storage, food processing, and agro-based industries to make agriculture more profitable. Efforts are being made to provide four times the prescribed compensation for land acquired for new roads, ensure daytime electricity supply, encourage solar pumps, secure fair prices for agricultural produce, and strengthen storage facilities.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasised natural farming and modern agricultural technologies, noting that farmers in the district are being selected for natural farming initiatives and Krishi Sakhis are being trained. He urged farmers to diversify their income by taking up animal husbandry, dairy farming, floriculture, fisheries, and food processing alongside traditional agriculture.
The CM also addressed the strengthening of the Sanchi Milk Union to promote milk production, the provision of financial assistance per cow per day for gaushalas, and the introduction of competitions and award schemes to encourage animal husbandry. Efforts are underway to establish potato and onion processing facilities, improve storage infrastructure, and set up food parks to help farmers secure better prices for their produce.
