The Government of India has approved an attractive package for a dedicated manufacturing zone called Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) in Gwalior. This zone aims to bring all telecom sector verticals and the entire ecosystem together at a single location. The Madhya Pradesh Government is also providing special policy incentives.
Leading telecom, electronics, and IT companies have expressed interest in establishing units in the TMZ. They appreciate the investor-friendly policies, transparent processes, and industry-friendly environment of Madhya Pradesh. The Centre-State incentive package for the TMZ, developed land at nominal rates, subsidised power and water, and advanced common testing laboratories are expected to significantly reduce financial risks for manufacturing companies.
The TMZ project is being developed through a 51:49 equity-sharing SPV between the Madhya Pradesh Government and the Department of Telecommunications, with MPIDC as the master developer.
