The Madhya Pradesh government is working towards improving farmers' access to quality inputs, irrigation facilities, and fair prices for their produce, with a focus on soybean production.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the state government is making efforts to ensure farmers have access to quality resources and irrigation facilities, and receive fair prices for their produce in both domestic and international markets. With rising global demand for nutrition-based foods, Madhya Pradesh, being the second-largest producer of foodgrains and third-largest producer of milk in India, is well-positioned to benefit.

Madhya Pradesh is also a leading producer of pulses, millets, and fish. The state's soybean production plays a crucial role in the livelihoods of farmers and both the state and national economies. Soybean serves as a significant source of income for farmers, a nutritional resource for households, and a raw material for industries.

Madhya Pradesh accounts for 45% of India's total soybean cultivation area and contributes over 35% of the country’s soybean production. Soybean is cultivated in more than 50 districts of the state. To guarantee fair prices for soybean farmers and acknowledge their hard work, the State Government launched the Soybean Bhavantar Yojana in October 2025.

In the previous year, approximately 7.17 lakh soybean farmers received ₹1,475 crore in price-difference payments directly into their bank accounts. Registration for the scheme is being arranged this year. For 2025–26, the minimum support price (MSP) for soybean was fixed at ₹5,328 per quintal. Alongside promoting soybean cultivation, the state is also offering subsidies to food-processing units and related industries associated with soybean.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav believes that soybean's potential lies in its value chain, from cultivation and industrial processing to the production of edible oil and protein-based products, and their distribution in domestic and international markets. These efforts are aimed at enriching farmers and strengthening the national economy.
