Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav outlines efforts to boost soybean production, ensure fair prices for farmers, and strengthen Madhya Pradesh's position in domestic and international markets.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has emphasized the state government's focus on providing quality inputs, irrigation facilities, and fair prices for farmers' produce, particularly in the context of growing global demand for nutrition-based foods. The state ranks second in foodgrain production, third in milk production, and is a leading producer of pulses, millets, and fish.
Madhya Pradesh's soybean production plays a crucial role in farmers' livelihoods and the economy. The state accounts for 45% of India's total soybean cultivation area and contributes over 35% of the country's soybean production. Soybean is grown in more than 50 districts of the state.
In October 2025, the State Government launched the Soybean Bhavantar Yojana to ensure fair prices for soybean growers. Last year, approximately 7.17 lakh soybean farmers received ₹1,475 crore in price-difference payments directly into their bank accounts. Registration for the scheme is being arranged this year.
The minimum support price (MSP) for soybean was fixed at ₹5,328 per quintal for the 2025–26 season. Additionally, the state government is providing subsidies to food-processing units and related industries associated with soybean.
