Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announces sentence remission for 124 prisoners in Madhya Pradesh on Independence Day.

On Friday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the State Government of Madhya Pradesh will grant sentence remission or special remission to 124 eligible prisoners based on their good conduct and disciplined behaviour.

Dr. Yadav, through a post on social media platform X, revealed that 118 prisoners serving life sentences will receive premature release, while six other eligible prisoners will benefit from special remission. The Chief Minister stated that this move aims to encourage other inmates to maintain good conduct.

He further added that the Government's initiative is in line with the spirit of the reformative justice system and will help strengthen the rehabilitation of eligible prisoners, facilitating their dignified reintegration into society.
