
The third edition of the Raja Bhoj National Sailing Championship concluded on Sunday in Bhopal, with the local team securing the national-ranking championship.
The third edition of the Raja Bhoj Multiclass National Sailing Championship (National Ranking) concluded on August 16th, 2026, at the Water Sports Centre (Boat Club) on Bhopal’s Upper Lake. The Bhopal sailing team, consisting of members Vasu Chandravanshi, Mahi Verma, Tulsi Patle, Eklavya Batham, Vanshika Sikarwar, Ian Patidar, Prarthana Bhoi, Ankit Sisodia, Samar Pancheshwar, and Siddhi Tandon, put up an impressive performance to win the national-ranking championship. The Goa sailing team finished runner-up, while the Secunderabad sailing team secured third place.
Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, presented awards to the winning and runner-up teams and felicitated talented players and coaches from Madhya Pradesh who delivered outstanding performances in various categories. He also inspected the display boats of the participating sailing teams at the Boat Club premises.
Dr. Yadav said that sports are an integral part of our identity, and sporting activities in Bhopal have grown rapidly over the past few years. Madhya Pradesh has risen from 17th to third position in the country through its improved performance in sports. The government's goal is to develop Bhopal as the sports capital by providing quality sports facilities.
The successful organization of the Raja Bhoj Multiclass National Sailing Championship has further strengthened Bhopal’s identity as one of the country’s leading water sports centers.
