Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reviewed ongoing airport construction activities with Union Minister for Civil Aviation Shri Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, discussing plans to develop ten advanced airstrips into airports, the launch of PM Shri Air Ambulance Service and the extension of UDAN scheme.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav met with Union Minister for Civil Aviation Shri Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu at Samatva Bhawan to review ongoing airport construction activities in Madhya Pradesh and discuss plans for expanding air services.

Dr. Yadav informed the Union Minister that eight airports have been developed in the state, with construction of new airports underway in Ujjain and Shivpuri. The state government aims to develop ten advanced airstrips into airports.

Under the Central Government's UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, proposals have been prepared to convert airstrips at Singrauli, Sagar, Neemuch, Chhindwara, Mandla, Khandwa, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Umaria and Shahdol into airports. Work on these projects will commence upon receiving required support and assistance from the Central Government.

The PM Shri Air Ambulance Service was first launched in Madhya Pradesh and has benefited over 170 critically ill patients, with 99% of them being saved. The service is provided free of cost to Ayushman Card holders and operated by the Health Department.

Union Minister Shri Naidu appreciated the air ambulance service, noting that Madhya Pradesh has set an example for the country. He announced that the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme will continue until 2036 and airports would be developed at all proposed locations in Madhya Pradesh under the UDAN scheme.

In the first phase, five new airports will be developed in the state, with the first to be constructed in Singrauli, a major energy hub of the state. Union Minister Shri Naidu directed officials to expedite the construction of new airports in Ujjain and Shivpuri and obtain all necessary environmental clearances for the Ujjain Airport by October 10, 2026.
