Nishatpura Railway Station in Bhopal

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurates new train stoppages at Nishatpura Railway Station, marking the city's fourth railway station and a significant step towards improving operational efficiency and handling the large influx of devotees during Simhastha-2028.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, while addressing the inauguration ceremony of new train stoppages at the newly developed Nishatpura Railway Station in Bhopal, announced that the city now has its fourth railway station. The Chief Minister inaugurated new stoppages for the Dr. Ambedkar Nagar–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Express and the Veraval–Jabalpur Express at Nishatpura Railway Station and flagged off the Malwa Express.

The commissioning of Nishatpura Station will eliminate the need for trains travelling from New Delhi towards Ujjain and Indore to undergo track and locomotive changes, thereby reducing travel time and improving operational efficiency. The Chief Minister also remarked that the two trains now halting at Nishatpura symbolise Shiva and Shakti.

Improved rail connectivity for Simhastha-2028 is a significant focus as the event is expected to attract nearly 400 million devotees to Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister emphasized that new railway stations will play a vital role in easing passenger congestion during the mega religious congregation.

Developed at a cost of ₹14 crore, Nishatpura Railway Station will open new avenues of growth for the surrounding area while offering improved passenger amenities. The new station will enable passengers travelling between New Delhi, Ujjain and Indore to save time by boarding trains directly from Nishatpura without travelling to Bhopal Main Station.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the rapid progress in railway infrastructure across Madhya Pradesh, stating that Indian Railways is playing a significant role in facilitating business, trade and employment generation. He noted that Madhya Pradesh has achieved cent per cent railway electrification and introduced modern trains such as Vande Bharat Express and Amrit Bharat Express. The Chief Minister announced that modern railway coaches will soon be manufactured near Bhopal.

The railway budget allocation for Madhya Pradesh has increased from ₹632 crore during 2009–2014 to ₹15,288 crore for 2026–27, representing a 24-fold increase by the Government of India. Railway projects worth ₹1.18 lakh crore are currently under implementation in the state.
