The Maharashtra police have filed an FIR against Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, due to his alleged disruption of education at a government school in Latur, threatening teachers, and defamation of the institution.

The police in Maharashtra’s Latur have filed a first information report (FIR) against Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party political campaign. According to PTI's report on Saturday, the FIR was registered due to an alleged incident where Dipke entered a Zilla Parishad Urdu school in the Jawali area near Ausa without permission, disrupted education by sitting among students and asking questions, and threatened teachers while defaming the institution. The complaint was filed by Sayyed Shamshadbano Khairatali, a teacher at the school. Dipke had visited the school as part of the political campaign’s nationwide drive to improve the condition of government schools. The Cockroach Janta Party has been sharing videos on social media, recorded by its volunteers, showing poor conditions in several states' government schools. After visiting the school near Ausa, Dipke shared a video on social media where students could purportedly be heard saying that they had been brought there from another institution. Khairatali alleged that Dipke defamed the school by claiming that students from another institution were made to sit in the classroom before his visit and threatened to get the teachers suspended. The FIR against Dipke was filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections relating to assault or use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging their official duty, house trespass, criminal intimidation, and criminal defamation.
