India's Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister, Shri Govind Singh Rajput, has issued instructions for eligible beneficiaries to receive their ration for both August and September in a single distribution through fair price shops by August 31. The minister emphasized the importance of ensuring 100 percent lifting of food grains by August 15 and complete storage at all fair price shops before this deadline.
Under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana, beneficiaries will receive 35 kg of wheat and rice per family, while those under the Priority Household category will receive 5 kg of food grains per member. In addition, beneficiaries of both categories will receive 1 kg of salt per family.
The minister also mandated that beneficiaries complete biometric authentication twice on the POS machine while receiving ration for August and September. He emphasized the need for timely delivery of food grains to fair price shops through transporters engaged under the Chief Minister Yuva Annadoot Yojana and monitoring deliveries through GPS.
Officials have been instructed to regularly monitor the supply and distribution of ration at fair price shops and take strict action against anyone found responsible for irregularities.
