The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited has launched the first steel bridge for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project in Maharashtra. The bridge spans over NH-3 at Dive-Anjur village in Bhiwandi, Thane district. With a length of 100 metres and a weight of 1,405 metric tonnes, the installation was carried out during night-time traffic blocks to minimise inconvenience to highway commuters. The project marks a significant step towards India's growing capability to manufacture, transport, and install complex steel structures for high-speed rail infrastructure.
Out of the 28 steel bridges planned for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor, 16 have now been completed.
