On the eighth Punya Tithi (Death Anniversary) of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, the grateful nation paid a humble tribute to the revered leader on Sunday. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid floral tribute and offered his respects at the life-size statue of Late Atal Ji installed near Shaurya Smarak.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that Madhya Pradesh held a special place in Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee's heart, as it was not only his birthplace but also closely connected with his karmabhoomi and his public life. He said that late Atal Ji was a great statesman and a symbol of India’s democratic consciousness, patriotism, and human sensitivity.
The Chief Minister further stated that the soil of Madhya Pradesh takes pride in having given birth to a statesman like Late Atal Ji. His voice, which emerged from the streets of Gwalior, enhanced India’s prestige not only across the country but around the world.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also highlighted that Atal Ji’s personality was a remarkable blend of simplicity, sensitivity, dedication to the nation, and exceptional oratory. His thoughts and values gave a new direction to Indian politics.
On this occasion, Member of Parliament Shri Alok Sharma, MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, MLA Shri Bhagwan Das Sabnani, Mayor Smt. Malti Rai, social worker Dr. Mahendra Singh, Shri Rahul Kothari, Shri Ravindra Yati, Shri Ashish Agrawal, and a large number of citizens were present.
