The Delhi Election Commission has cleared more than 94% of the voters who received notices during a special intensive revision for inclusion in the final electoral roll. According to The Hindu, out of the 33.1 lakh voters who were issued notices, 13.7 lakh could not be linked to the electoral roll from the last special intensive revision, while 19.3 lakh were flagged for 'logical discrepancies' in their enumeration forms.
Prominent figures such as Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar were among those issued notices during the revision. The deadline for disposing of notices is November 30, while the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on December 4.
Booth-level officers have been visiting homes across constituencies to collect documents from the 33 lakh people who received notices. It was unclear what the 'other' category referred to when voters were removed from the electoral roll, which had around 1.4 crore electors before the revision exercise.
Since the exercise began in June 2025, it has faced questions about its implementation and pace, with concerns that it could deny genuine electors their right to vote and shape election outcomes.
